September 10th – Support 350 Sacramento’s riders prepping for the Climate Ride If you live in the greater Roseville area, have a meal at California Pizza Kitchen, present the coupon found here http://www.weracemountainbikes.com/routes/cpk_cr13.pdf and know that 20% of the proceeds will go to our intrepid Climate Ride participants. Each rider is raising $2,800. Through the ride, participants demonstrate their commitment to address and reduce climate change. September 13th – Sierra Nevada Alliance conference If you happen to be heading to the Sierra, check out the Alliance’s annual conference. Climate change is one of the key themes this year. Megan Elsea, 350 Sacramento volunteer and co-producer of the Separate Oil & State Rally last July is a speaker. Bill McKibben will briefly be at the conference discussing his latest book “Oil & Honey”. September 16th – Climate Forum: Carbon Tax & Dividend We are honored to once again co-sponsor the League of Women Voters and United Nations Association’s Climate Forum. This year’s topic is the growing momentum for Congress to adopt a tax on carbon emissions and return the proceeds to households in the U.S. Our friends at the local chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby are the presenters. The Forum will be held at the SMUD auditorium, 6201 S St. Sacramento. The following flyer has more details:
