Feb 6—Gore and Blood at CalSTRS. Al Gore and David Blood (previously head of Goldman Sachs Asset Management) will be speaking at CalSTRS (CA State Teachers Retirement System), 100 Waterfront Place, West Sacramento, from 10:30–12. We will meet outside the main doors between 9 and 9:15 am to distribute flyers about Global Divestment Day (see Feb 13), then enter the building to hear Al Gore and David Blood’s presentation at 10:30; there will be overflow seating in an adjacent room. Martha Turner, from 350 Sac, and Bill and Jane Vosburg will make a public statement afterward. The nearest bus stops are at 3rd & G in West Sac and there will be a blue Prius shuttle from Amtrak to CalSTRS. Come out to support divestment…and wear orange if possible.
