There is a lot happening locally to address climate change. This is a quick note about just a few timely things you might want to put on your calendar. More details on these and some bigger items soon.
Greedy Lying Bastards, a documentary about why the U.S. is not tackling climate change despite consensus in the scientific community, is playing at Century 14 on Ethan Way at least until this Thursday, March 14. Many of us are planning to go to the 7:20 showing on Thursday. Please join us if you can.
350 Sacramento will have a booth at several events during April and May: Earth Day at Sac State (April 17), Earth Day at Southside Park (April 21), Bike Fest (May 9), and Green Fair (May 29). We need volunteers for these events--we always try to have 2 people working a table at all times so you won't be alone. It's fun and easy, you'll meet nice people, help raise awareness about climate change, and it's fun . . .
Finally, get your bikes out and ready for May is Bike Month. Once again we'll have a 350 Sac team, with activities throughout the month. On May 18 & 19 we will sponsor an Eco Home Tour (by bike) to see what people around Sacramento are doing to cut their carbon footprint. One day will be in the Midtown/East Sac area and one day in Fair Oaks/Carmichael (other neighborhoods considered). We're looking for large and small projects, inside and outside, small and large houses, owners and renters, inexpensive and not inexpensive projects. What have you done? If you have a project you'd like to share (big or small, inside or outside), please contact Ashley.
Spring is here and it's beautiful. Let's enjoy it while we work to keep the weather beautiful into the future.
