As you know, climate change doesn't just happen. It's happening. Right now, everywhere. Lots of people and communities are coming together to make progress towards a brighter future. Are you one of those people? If so, please share your story with me.
I am a local Sacramento artist who volunteers artistic skills to 350 Sacramento and I want to create a series of zines to tell stories and help fundraise for 350 Sacramento. A zine is a mini magazine (it's really a mini booklet), currently not more than 6 pages (I'm using a method that doesn't involve staples or glue and is technically reversible for a total of 12-14 pages).
Each zine will be $5 (part of that cost will go to materials, the rest will go to 350 Sacramento, your local climate movement group).
What I need from you:
- A donation of your story (aka permission to publish and sell your story, all sales of which, again, will go to printing/material costs and the costs of running 350 Sacramento). What do you do to reduce your carbon footprint? Do you get others involved? It can be as simple as investing in a reusable water bottle or as complex as instigating policy changes.
- Your story should be 120-240 words. When I said mini booklet, I really meant it. If you would like to submit multiple stories, then that is awesome and I would love to work with you on multiple zines.
- I will be illustrating, editing, and designing your stories into zines (you will give the final approval), so any images you have for my reference would be helpful.
Please email me at email@example.com with your stories, questions, comments, and concerns.
