National Climate Assessment, CCL-U this week, and more
National Climate Assessment released
The White House released the National Climate Assessment today. You can find the report here:
There is an excellent series of short videos that put a human face on the report:
The report is getting much traction in the media -- AP, NY Times, Washington Post, etc. -- and there is a good chance your newspaper picked up a story about it either for today's or Wednesday's edition. This presents an excellent opportunity for your group to submit letters to the editor. In those letters, ask that your members of Congress -- mention them by name -- look at the report and respond by supporting a tax on carbon that returns revenue to households.
The report also looks at climate impact by regions, which makes it a valuable resource for teams researching local impact on industries (one of our May actions).

Laser talk meetings, business cards
As promised on the national call, Tess Zabel's guide to holding a special chapter meeting to learn laser talks is posted under Group Management/Active Groups. It's called "Practicing Laser talks-Social Action Meeting Guide."
In addition, if you or your chapter would like to make your own CCL business card, we have a system in place to make it easy for you to get a file that you can take or email to a printer. See the document titled "Business Card Instructions" also posted under Group Management/Active Groups. There is an option for a personalized business card and a generic one.
